The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities has developed a postgraduate top-up scholarship for ozone science to promote postgraduate research into the science of stratospheric ozone depletion and recovery, including linkages with climate change science.
Australia is recognised internationally for the quality of its climate change and atmospheric science and has a comprehensive program of Southern Hemisphere climate research. This scholarship aims to build that expertise to enhance Australia’s ozone science capacity and increase the global research effort in our region.
The value of this scholarship is $5000 per annum for three years. This scholarship is intended to supplement a primary scholarship for doctoral study.
The scholarship was awarded in 2009 and 2012. Consideration is currently underway on how to further encourage post-graduate research on ozone science including whether or not to continue the postgraduate top-up scholarship for research in ozone science.
