Non-refillable containers

Are you importing hydrofluorocarbons (HFCS) in disposable containers?

If so, you need to make other arrangements. The importation of non-refillable containers containing HFCS is prohibited from 1 July 2000.

Signed by the Governor-General on 21 June 2000

The Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956, have been amended with effect from 1 July 2000, prohibiting the importation of non-refillable containers containing HFCs designed for use in the maintenance of refrigerative units (including air-conditioning units).
